Description:
This is one of two glass decanters from the home of Poe's foster parents, John and Frances Allan, given to the Poe Museum in 1931 by Josie and Katie Halloran, whose parents had purchased them in 1881 at the estate sale of the Allan's Richmond mansion Moldavia. The same donors also gave the Poe Museum two salt cellars from the Allan home.
