This is the first British edition of Poe's first book, Tamerlane. Published in 1884, the book contains a facsimile of what, at the time, was considered the only surviving copy of the original 1827 edition. The 1884 edition was limited to 100 copies, of which this is number 4. The book is inscribed to Algernon Charles Swinburne (1837-1909), an English poet and critic.
