DESCRIPTION:Presented by the James River Film Society: join us at the Poe Museum on Sunday\, October 18th at 7:00 PM for The Fall of the House of Usher (1928) with Silent Music Revival\, Richmond’s enduring live music silent cinema series\, featuring “wonder-inducing therminist and songbird” Caroline Scruggs. \n\n\n\nBring your own chairs and snacks; beer and wine will be available from a cash bar! \n\n\n\nFilm Synopsis: The Fall of the House of Usher (1928) directed by Jean Epstein: Allan visits the sinister Usher family mansion\, where his friend Roderick is painting a portrait of his sickly wife Madeline. Once the lot is full\, you may have to rely on street parking on surrounding streets. \n\n\n\nSEATING \n\n\n\nPlease bring your own lawn chairs or blankets\, as seating will not be provided. \n\n\n\nFOOD & DRINKBeer\, wine and non-alcoholic refreshments will be for sale at a cash bar. We accept cash or card. If you plan on purchasing alcohol during the event\, please bring a valid form of identification. To comply with our ABC license\, we will check the IDs of ANYONE who plans to purchase alcohol – no exceptions. You may bring your own snacks. NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED. No food or drinks are permitted inside the museum buildings. \n\n\n\nWEATHERThis event is outdoors. In the case of inclement weather\, this event may be cancelled. \n\n\n\nACCESSIBILITYThe Poe Museum is dedicated to creating an accessible space for all. The Poe Museum can provide wheelchair ramps upon request. Seating inside exhibit spaces is limited\, however The Poe Museum can provide additional seating upon request. The Poe Museum’s courtyard is laid with cobblestone\, which may be difficult to navigate for individuals with wheelchairs or other mobility devices.
