This extraordinary event will feature live music\, readings\, food trucks\, beer\, wine\, entertainment\, programs and much more. This is a party to die for! \n\n\n\nBirthday Bash (Saturday and Sunday) will be in the Poe Museum’s Enchanted Garden\, with a heated tent to keep the elements out. Please dress accordingly. PoeMovies is dedicated to creating accurate film renditions of Poe’s classic short stories and poems as well as other works of classic literature. The selection of films include: “The Tell-Tale Heart\,” “The Raven\,” and “The Cask of Amontillado.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n4pm-4:30pm  Opening Speaker\, Sara Crocoll Smith \n\n\n\nSara Crocoll Smith (she/her) is the author of the ghostly gothic horror series Hopeful Horror\, which includes her debut novel The Haunting of Orchard Hill. She’s also the award-winning editor of the Love Letters to Poe anthologies and creator of the Love Letters to Poe website\, a haven to celebrate the works of Edgar Allan Poe. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n4:30pm-5:30pm  ‘Edgar Allan’ The Coldharts  \n\n\n\nEdgar Allan is a two-­person musical created and performed by Katie Hartman and Nick Ryan. It follows a pre-adolescent Edgar Allan Poe in his first year at Manor House School\, as he seeks to gain academic ascendancy over the student body. All goes to plan until another boy named Edgar Allan arrives in class… which complicates his schemes of dominance.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n5:30pm-7:00pm  Cassidy Snider and the Wranglers  \n\n\n\nCassidy Snider & The Wranglers is a band with roots firmly planted in the riverbank soil of Richmond\, Virginia. This day is created for families with kids age 4-15 but open to all ages. It’s a party to die for! \n\n\n\nAlong with the scheduled programming\, there will be ongoing scavenger hunts\, poetry workshops\, and coloring activities. This event will be held in our Enchanted Garden with a heated tent. Please dress accordingly. Hunter magically make things disappear\, reappear\, and levitate. Magician Hunter Rhodes is a dynamic\, hip\, entertaining magician\, based in Richmond Virginia. Prepare for a show that will leave you smiling\, laughing\, and amazed! Recommended for ages 4 and up. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n3:00-4:00: Living History with Eliza Poe \n\n\n\nEdgar Allan Poe’s mother was a famous actress\, loving mother\, and vibrant person in her own right. In her short\, yet adventurous 24 years of life\, Eliza Poe was able to create a legacy that would become an unending well of inspiration for her most famous child. Join us for a performance by Debbie Phillips as Eliza Poe. Debbie Phillips\, a native of Chesterfield\, has worked in public history for over 15 years\, and is passionate about bringing history to life for audiences of all ages. Recommended for ages 8 and up. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n4:00-5:00pm: Readings with Author Phillip Hilliker  \n\n\n\nPhillip Hilliker will be reading a section of his published story “Broken Home” and will host a interactive monster illustration activity.
