Illumination Series Featuring: Hidden In Plain Site

Join us on Wednesday, August 9th at 6:00pm for a talk and discussion with the Dontrese Brown and Dean Browell, the founders of Hidden In Plain Site (HiPS)!

HiPS is a VR exploration of distinct but easy to overlook sites

around Richmond, VA, that tell the story of the Black

experience throughout our history. HiPSTM exists to use

technology to change the future of cultural education.

Featuring actual examples from various angles and ages,

these sites will be brought to impactful life through current

appearance augmented with historical imagery. Our goal is

to inform, educate and inspire the people of our communities

by correcting the narratives of our historically

underrepresented groups – changing how we see,

experience, and understand these cultures.
