SUMMARY:Poe's Death Day Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Edgar Allan Poe’s 177th death day anniversary at the Poe Museum! Join us Wednesday\, October 7th from 10:00am-2:00pm to celebrate Poe’s last day. \n\n\n\nOur Education Coordinator\, Meg Luffman\, will be providing a guided focus tour at 11:00am where we will take a closer look at Poe’s final moments and explore the twenty-six different theories explaining his death. This tour has a limited capacity. Registration is required. Please note that by registering for this tour you are purchasing museum admission.  \n\n\n\n\nREgister here\n\n\n\n\nExperience a dramatic reading of “The Raven” at 12:30pm performed by the Poe Museum’s curator\, Chris Semtner. Afterwards\, guests can participate in a “Raven Reading Competition” where guests will attempt to recite “The Raven” from memory. The guest to recite the poem with the most accuracy will receive a gift bag featuring items from the Poe Museum’s gift shop. \n\n\n\nSpend the rest of the afternoon reading select Poe poems and short stories either in the Enchanted Garden or in the Reading Room on the second floor of the Memorial Building.
