Poe Museum Birthday Bash

Join us virtually or in-person to celebrate Edgar Allan Poe’s 213th birthday! It’s a party to die for…

We are offering a variety of COVID-conscious events for you to celebrate at your comfort level. Below is a list of the events with links to ticket sales:

January 19th 8-9pm- A Virtual Toast to Poe: Grab your favorite beverage and join our livestream on Facebook to honor Edgar Allan Poe’s 213th birthday!

January 20th 6-7pm – 1000 Ways To Die in Richmond – Virtual Tour with Chris Semtner: Virtually explore some of Richmond’s most notorious graveyards and crime scenes with Poe Museum Curator Chris Semtner. Click here for tickets.

January 22nd 2-3pm – The Scarab and The Conqueror Worm – Virtual Tour with Dean Knight: Programs Coordinator Dean Knight will lead a virtual tour of two of Richmond’s most interesting buildings, both built during Poe’s lifetime: Monumental Church and the Egyptian Building. Click here for tickets.

January 22nd 4-5pm – 1000 Ways To Die in Richmond – Virtual Tour with Chris Semtner: Virtually explore some of Richmond’s most notorious graveyards and crime scenes with Poe Museum Curator Chris Semtner. Click here for tickets.

January 22nd 10am-5pm – Birthday Bash Daytime Celebration: Visit the Poe Museum during regular business hours to pay tribute to the Master of the Macabre! There will be free guided tours offered hourly. Food, beverages, and entertainment will be provided in the Enchanted Garden. There will also be a scavenger hunt around the garden for our youngest fans. You may purchase tickets ahead of time, or purchase them at the door. Tickets are general museum admission, there are no special tickets for this event. Click here for tickets.

January 22nd 6-9pm – Into the Afterlife: Shadows of the Poe Museum: This tour is SOLD OUT. If you would like to explore the Poe Museum after dark, join us for the “Ghosts in the Garden.

January 22nd 6-9pm: Ghosts in the Garden: Want to spend time after dark at the Poe Museum but not interested in the Afterlife tour? Join us in the Enchanted Garden to swap ghost stories and maybe enjoy the company of some incorporeal friends. Get your ticket here.
